3.What satellite navigation systems does the D-RTK 2 High Precision GNSS Mobile Station support?

The D-RTK 2 High Precision GNSS Mobile Station supports four satellite navigation systems: GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BEIDOU. It is capable of receiving 11 signals: GPS L1, L2, L5; GLONASS L1, L2; Galileo E1, E5A, E5B, BEIDOU B1, B2, B3.

4.What is the difference between the D-RTK 2 Mobile Station and D-RTK?

There are 2 main differences:

a. Physical differences: D-RTK is a module that includes 2 sets of RTK receivers, antennas, and radios. One receiver can be used as the base station while the other as the rover station to transmit differential data via radio. D-RTK 2 Mobile Station is an all-in-one product that integrates a high-precision receiver and transmission links, making it easy to set up and use.

b. Performance differences: D-RTK has two versions that receive GPS+BDS or GPS+ GLONASS signals depending on different regions and signal coverages. D-RTK 2 Mobile Station only has one version globally that supports four satellite navigation systems: GPS, BEIDOU, GLONASS, and Galileo, receiving 11 signals, which is more than the signals the D-RTK can receive. The new antennas ensure better signal reception and higher positioning accuracy.

5.Why does the D-RTK 2 High Precision GNSS Mobile Station not support D-RTK?

Because the data links are different.

6.Is there any region restriction on the operation of D-RTK 2 High Precision GNSS Mobile Station after upgrading its unifying firmware?

The Chinese version of the Mobile Station can only be used in Mainland China. Please follow the local laws and regulations when using other versions in other regions, specifically regarding support for 2.4GHz and 5.8 GHz transmissions.

Power Source
1.What are the power sources of the D-RTK 2 Mobile Station?

There are three power sources:1. Internal battery WB37-4920mAh-7.6V2. External battery (MG12000P)3. AC power adapter

2.How long does the internal battery last?

At least two hours. The battery can be charged through the external power port on the D-RTK 2 Mobile Station, or removed and charged with the charger.

3.Does the internal battery need to be removed when the D-RTK 2 Mobile Station is not in use?

Yes. When not in use, please remove the battery. When powered off, the D-RTK 2 Mobile Station enters standby. If the battery is left in the D-RTK 2 Mobile Station, it will stand by for 10 days and then power off automatically to protect the battery, after which the battery needs to be changed or recharged.

4.Will the D-RTK 2 Mobile Station shut down when switching to an external power source?

When the internal battery is fully charged, the D-RTK 2 Mobile Station will stay on for at least two hours. If an external power source is connected before the internal battery is drained, the D-RTK 2 Mobile Station will continue to function, otherwise it will shut down.

Using the D-RTK 2 Mobile Station
1.Do I need to calibrate the D-RTK 2 Mobile Station with a reference point?

If there is a point with known location coordinates, simply place the D-RTK 2 Mobile Station exactly on that point then input the coorinates in the App. Make sure the difference in distance between the input and actual coordinates is less than 5 meters, or the input will not work.

2.How does the D-RTK 2 Mobile Station sense movement and determine if it is upright?

The D-RTK 2 Mobile Station is equipped with a high-performance IMU to monitor the status of the device and send that information to the aircraft. If the D-RTK 2 Mobile Station is moved or toppled over, the aircraft will stop performing RTK functions and display the status of the D-RTK 2 Mobile Station in the remote controller app.

3.How do I import a fixed set of coordinates into the D-RTK 2 Mobile Station?

This can be done in the remote controller app, please see the user manual for more information.

4.How do I run updates on the D-RTK 2 Mobile Station?

Log in to DJI ASSISTANT 2 with your DJI account, connect the D-RTK 2 Mobile Station to the PC with a Type-C cable and run the firmware update.

What RTK 2? ›

D-RTK 2 Mobile Station is DJI's upgraded high-precision GNSS receiver that supports all major global satellite navigation systems, providing real-time differential corrections that generate centimeter-level positioning data for improved relative accuracy.

What does RTK mean DJI? ›

Real Time Kinematics, or RTK for short, is a special technique for satellite positioning that can produce accurate results to the centimeter, making it an invaluable tool for surveyors around the world. The method involves measuring satellite data against a ground station for precise, real time information.

Does an RTK drone need a base station? ›

How Do RTK Drones Work? RTK equipped drones use a base station for GPS corrections. A base station is a stationary object with defined precise coordinates. The drone communicates with the base station in real-time, hence the name, and receives GPS corrections multiple times per second.

And hold the power button to turn on the dr TK to mobile station. And then the our status indicator

Do I need RTK for mapping? ›

RTK workflows provide precise data when properly managed and applied. This is a benefit to anyone using any kind of mapping whether it's DTM, DEM, Contours, or a simple ortho.

How accurate is RTK drone? ›

The average error for the P4 RTK maps came out to 3.65 cm, or about 0.27% of real-world measurements. For comparison, using GCPs a user can expect 3 cm accuracy, and using a GPS unit, like a Trimble Catalyst, a user can expect 3 cm accuracy.

How does RTK work in drones? ›

Real-time kinematic (RTK) processing on a drone records GPS information and geotags images as they're captured during flight. The GPS location is recorded for the center of each image. While the drone is in flight, an active base station on the ground sends it raw GPS data.

What do you need for RTK? ›

For RTK, you need two GNSS receivers: one is static and called a “base station,” the other is moving and is called a “rover.” While both receivers observe the same satellites simultaneously, the static base station is placed at a point with known coordinates (a benchmark or a point measured beforehand).

How accurate is DJI GPS? ›

Absolute Accuracy

Using a standard GPS on a DJI Phantom 3, you can typically expect to have around 1 meter (3 ft) horizontal accuracy. So if you draw a circle around you with a 1m radius, and give someone your GPS location, they're expected to be somewhere within this circle.

Do you need RTK for Photogrammetry? ›

However, when it comes to photogrammetry, to get a reasonable level of absolute accuracy, we need RTK data. In RTK-equipped drones, such data is embedded into every image that the drone takes when the RTK signal is available. The photogrammetry software later uses this data to use precise camera center positions.
